Residential IPs belong to consumer internet plans, so websites see ordinary household visitors instead of a server farm. That makes them the default choice for scraping public pages that rate limit cloud addresses, for checking localized prices and search results, and for any job where a request has to look like a normal visit from a given country.

What are residential proxies?

A residential proxy is an intermediary IP address that belongs to a home internet connection. When your scraper or browser sends a request through the proxy, the target website sees the residential IP, its internet provider and its country, not the address of your server.

Because these addresses are spread over millions of households and thousands of networks, they are hard to block in bulk. A site that blocks one address does not block its neighbours, and rotating to a fresh address takes one new connection.

How pay-as-you-go residential pricing works

You top up account credit once and buy traffic in GB when you need it. Every purchase of 50 GB or more costs $0.60 per GB; any single purchase of 1 TB or more costs $0.48 per GB for the whole order. There is no plan to renew and no monthly minimum.

Traffic is counted in both directions: the request you send and the page you receive. A product page of 300 KB with images blocked costs about 0.3 MB, so 1 GB covers roughly 3,000 such pages. Blocking images, fonts and video in your scraper is the easiest way to stretch every GB.

  • 50 GB for $30: the smallest order, enough for tests and small daily jobs
  • 1 TB for $480: $0.48 per GB for large crawls
  • 5 TB for $2,400: the same volume price for steady high usage

Rotating and sticky sessions

By default every new connection gets a new residential IP. That is the right mode for crawling many URLs, because each request starts clean.

When a task needs the same address for several steps, such as a multi page checkout check or a logged in session on your own test account, add a session id to the username. The same id keeps the same IP for up to 120 minutes while the device stays online, and a new id gives you a new IP straight away.

Country targeting is free

Add a country code to the proxy username and every request in that session exits in that country. Country targeting is included in the price per GB on every plan, with 214 countries available for residential traffic. Leave the country out and the gateway picks from the whole pool, which gives the largest variety of IPs.

Residential or datacenter: which one to choose

Datacenter proxies are faster and cheaper per GB, and they are perfect for sites that do not filter cloud traffic. Residential proxies cost more per GB but pass on sites that treat server IPs as bots. Many teams use both: datacenter traffic for open APIs and simple pages, residential traffic for protected sites. One account holds credit for every product, so you can split your spend however you like.
